The shape and design of surgical instruments are the same today as they were a century ago. Take a look at any catalog of surgical instruments of any year at random and you will see that very little has changed. We want to improve the comfort of the handle, and also its design. Surgery should be more effortless for the assistant and surgeon, and therefore lead to better patient safety.
